More Halloween 2 Weirdness

If things hadn't been weird enough for you on the H2 front then just wait. Last week Director Rob Zombie showed off a music video for a fictional band that will apparently appear in the film at some point. Click here to view that. Then there was a bizarre photoshopped movie poster that surfaced online. Rumor has it that its simply one of the options for the final poster.

Now you'll find another Video of Uncle Coffins horror show that will play some part in being in the background of the world of H2. I gotta say that overall this whole thing is getting stranger and stranger.

Creature Double-Feature The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Want more? Ok it was leaked that the crew was looking for a Hospital to film in for the bulk of the movie. If that doesn't worry you, then it should. I'm starting to wonder if Zombie is once again just adding 20% of new storyline to the original Halloween 2 movie. A sequel that was just a cash grab at the momentum of the first film. I really hope that this is not the case but all these little parts that are leaking out of the set and from Rob Zombie Himself isn't exactly filling me with confidence that this movie will get it right this time.

Halloween 2 wraps and New Myers Mask

Rob Zombie reported from his MySpace page today that Filming on H2 has officially wrapped. Now we wait to see if this will be a sequel that makes up for the first films shortcomings or if it puts the final nail in the Halloween Franchise's Coffin. In the meantime check out the photo of Michael's New Mask.

Trick or Treat Coming to DVD this October?

Trick or Treat is one of those movies that has all this positive buzz behind it but has been treated like a red-headed step child by its studio. Its been in the can now for about 2 years and lot of reviewers have been calling it a great Halloween movie that is destined to become a cult classic. I'm dying to see it so I'm happy to hear that it will be getting put on DVD and Blu-Ray this October. There's currently no word on any type of theatrical release.

H2 Trailer Now Online

The New trailer for Rob Zombie's Sequel to his much maligned remake of Halloween is now online. I have to say its a slick trailer and its filling me with questions about the storyline. It looks like we'll be giving a lot of information as to why Michael is doing what he's doing. Taken on its own it might be interesting but I think Hardcore Halloween Fans are going to be pissed. Check out the trailer now at Yahoo! Movies

Halloween 2 New Poster puts Family first

In case you haven’t already found it elsewhere you should check out the new Halloween 2 poster, which isn’t titled H2 in this one, on the left. The general consensus seems to be that this is a pretty badass poster but I have to disagree. I’m not loving it at all. Brutality alone does not a good poster make and the very photoshopped sky and rain the background is pretty dull. The poster for the first film was better and the posters for Halloween 4 and 5 were much much better than both of them. In any case there It is for all to see. The movie comes to theatres this August. Below I’ve assembled a little retrospective on the much better Halloween Movie posters.

Play Halloween Scare if You Dare

Halloween Truth

While they cannot say for definite exactly how Halloween will be celebrated two hundred years from now, they have a nice idea about the next five years. But before they get to that, here are some thoughts on how the particular day of the week that Halloween falls on influences this holiday.

For Christmas, it is not uncommon for people to start putting up decorations as early as Thanksgiving and they may leave them up all the way through New Years. Since the excepted Christmas season lasts literally weeks, you have much more time to spread out special events such as parties.

When Halloween falls on a week day, except Friday, celebrating tends to be smaller, on a Wednesday or Thursday. These days are far removed from the preceding weekend to have a Halloween party, and its virtually unheard of to hold a party after October 31st. If you have a party on a week night, it usually has to be short in period as children have school the next day and most adults have work. The best Halloween falls on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, giving more time for parties, haunts and Halloween fun.

Halloween on the other hand, usually does not become visible until October 31st., or at best a few days before and then vanishes like dust in an Autumn breeze the following day. You may spend weeks or even months in preparation for Halloween night, but all you get is two night.

In 2007, Halloween fell on a Wednesday, and would normally be on the next calendar day the following year, but because 2008 is a leap year and February has a twenty-ninth day in it, Halloween will skip Thursday and fall on Friday instead. But the news keeps getting better. That also means Halloween will fall on a Saturday in 2009 and on a Sunday in 2010. There is not another leap year until 2012, which will put it on Wednesday. The year 2014 will bring another Friday Halloween and the following five years will be weekend Halloweens.

Friday - Children can celebrate Halloween in school making decorations and having class room parties if they are allowed to, then five times home they can don their selected Halloween costume and go out for tricks and treats. Adults can give out treats in the late afternoon and evening, and then get dressed for that Halloween party, or still have time to throw a party of their own.

Saturday - This is our favorite day for Halloween to fall on. Children are out of school and have lots of time to get ready. They can stay up later since they don't have school the following day. Adults have all Friday night to hold or go to a Halloween party and then Sunday night to greet their costumed visitors.

Sunday - Our second favorite day for Halloween to be, you can host or go to that party on Saturday and then have all Sunday to prepare for your trick or treaters.

So, what can they expect over the next five years? More Halloween parties, more business related events such as costume contests, a larger selection of Halloween products in stores and more haunted events like haunted houses popping up around towns. The next five years look to be great for Halloween lovers everywhere!
